elcome to Cynthia Bassham's home on the web. Cynthia is a professional actor
with extensive credits, including originating the role of 'C' in the world
premiere of Edward Albee's Three Tall Women directed by the playwright.
As a teacher, she has had many opportunities over the past fifteen years to share her skills and love of theatre in a variety of venues. Cynthia is now a full-time voice and speech instructor at the University of California, Irvine. In San Francisco, Cynthia teaches ongoing Fitzmaurice Voicework classes with Seydways Acting Studios and occasionally teaches voice and speech at Studio A.C.T. and coaches privately around the bay area.
Cynthia's introduction to elements of Fitzmaurice Voicework started at A.C.T., where she studied with Nancy Houfek from 1986 to 1989. She continues her studies with Saul Kotzubei and recently spent a month in New York with Catherine Fitzmaurice as part of the teacher certification course.
Cynthia received her B.A. in Drama from the University of Washington and her M.F.A. in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater.
